POVERTY HEARINGS
The 'Speak Out Poverty' hearings continue in different parts of the
country. Most recently individuals have given testimony on the
economies of poverty in Pretoria, Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal.
Although
the hearings have been criticized in some quarters, they are important
in giving those who are economically deprived and marginalised a
voice. The hearings also provide crucial information which can
influence future policy to address the issues which face millions of
South Africans daily.
