Action Alerts and Action Alert Updates are distributed electronically via the International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX) Clearing House and the Media Institute of Southern Africa. The alerts report on events that affect freedom of expression or media freedom in South Africa. It is an important means of soliciting international support for a campaign and of keeping international freedom of expression groups abreast of unfolding issues.
