The Freedom of Expression Institute wrote a letter to Professor Malegapuru Makgoba, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kwazulu-Natal, regarding the state of freedom of expression and of academic freedom at the university. This led to an exchange of letters between Prof. Makgoba and Na'eem Jeenah, head of the Anti-Censorship Programme.
