Dear Professor Makgoba

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

We have every intention of respecting the Codes of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures of the University and have no intention of meddling with matters that fall outside of our mandate. However, we do believe that the question of academic freedom and of freedom of expression at tertiary institutions falls squarely within our mandate.

Be that as it may, my main concern in this mail is to state that we are always willing for it to be pointed out to us where we have erred. We would therefore be grateful if you would indicate to us where the factual inaccuracies in our letter lie and which parts of it might be ill-informed and distorted. I would be grateful for your reply in this regard.
