Southern African Media Law Briefing

Aims and contact details of FXI, MISA and Article 19

The aim of the Southern African Media Law Briefing is to report on legal cases that set positive precedents for the defence of freedom of expression and the independence of the media. The newsletter is a response to a need expressed by media lawyers in the region at a Conference in October 1995, organised by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) and Article 19, the International Centre against censorship. The newsletter is published jointly by Article 19, MISA and the Freedom of Expression Institute (FXI) of South Africa, and will appear quarterly.
