FXI Projects - Right to protest

The right to protest ensures that South Africans are free to express their views on any issue that affects them.

Section 17 of the Constitution protects the right to assembly, demonstration, picket and petition - "Everyone has the right, peacefully and unarmed, to assemble, to demonstrate, to picket and to present petitions."

The Regulation of Gatherings Act (RGA) provides guidelines on the legal exercise of the right to protest.
